From Easter onwards the campsite is flat out through to the Summer. Before we get there, there’s a long list of jobs to make sure the site is safe, presentable and ready for the thousands of young people and adults who will use it. Alongside that, we’re also preparing for PrimJam VI, which many of our groups are attending, and that adds even more to do.
The reality is the Primrose Hill site team is small. They work incredibly hard, but they simply can’t get everything done on their own.
What we do have is a large number of volunteers across the district. If everyone gave just a few hours once or twice, the impact would be huge. You don’t need to be there all day and you don’t need specialist skills. There are Jobs for all abilities. We will provide plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. If you’d like to stay for the day, please bring some lunch.
The dates we have planned are:
  • Sunday 1st March – normal working day
  • (No working day on Easter Sunday)
  • Sunday 12 April – normal working day
  • Saturday 25 April – PrimJam working day
  • Sunday 26 April – PrimJam working day
  • Monday 27 April – PrimJam working day
  • Tuesday 28 April – PrimJam working day
  • Thursday 30 April – PrimJam working day
  • Tuesday 5 May – Prim Jam clear-up working day
Explorer Unit Team Leaders – Can we also please encourage you to bring your Explorers to one of these days. It is a great way for them to understand what goes on behind the scenes to run a campsite like ours, and the time can count towards their Activity Centre Service Badge. If you are planning to come with Explorers, please give David a heads up so he can prepare suitable jobs for the numbers attending.

Primrose Hill belongs to all of us, and a small contribution from many people will make a big difference. I hope you can pop a date in the diary and come and help out.

Thank you for any time you’re able to give.
