What to expect
Participants taking part in the Silver Qualifying expedition in July will spend the day planning their expedition routes, menus and activities or can also join any workshops they require or need more training. This will also be the same for those carrying out a Bronze Qualifying or silver training Expedition but only if there is enough interest.
Workshops Available
A. Personal Equipment and rucksack packing (setting up rucksack, weight and packing)
B. Meal planning (menu and what foods to take) demonstrated 3 different menus and how to plan and prep for Expedition.
C. Stoves and group equipment (stoves Care, usage and safety) (group equipment what is needed and how to use it and check its condition)
D. Route cards and online OS mapping
E. Tents ( size, condition, use and storage)
F. Projects and Activities.
G. Cooking on a trangia
If you have a level 3 Emergency aid badge or above you don’t have to do the first aid section however its always good to keep your skills upto date
Expedition First aid – this half day session (subject to pre booking and meeting minimum required participants of 6)

Equipment
All equipment will be supplied for the day by the top awards team.
You will need a pack up for lunch and something to drink and please bring the correct clothing for the weather conditions and and medication you will need for the day.
